Digital Résumé
LAST UPDATED: 4/5/2025.
Summary
I am a university-educated music and audio industry professional who has spent years developing their artistic intuitions and technological expertise with equal rigor.
My areas of specialization are studio production and recording in both the digital and analog realm; I have worked as a student recording engineer in professional-grade facilities for several years.
I have obtained a multitude of hands-on experiences with operating and troubleshooting A/V technologies.
I studied tape recording and analog workflows in great detail during my final two years of college, and concluded my undergraduate studies with an in-depth research project into vintage recording and production techniques.
As an seasoned studio worker who has serviced hundreds of clients, I have placed consistent, high-quality socialization and communication at the forefront of my career.
I am interested in careers which allow me to further explore the craft of music-making and recording, primarily with acoustic-leaning instrumentation, using hybrid analog and digital layouts.
EDUCATION
NYU Prague — Tonmeister Technology
Month-long intensive on stereo and immersive recording and mixing techniques for studio and on-location recordings.
New York University, New York, NY
BM in Music Technology, with a focus on studio engineering.
Manhattan School of Music, New York, NY (MSM Summer Program)
High school summer program where I pursued classical composition.
Nassau BOCES Long Island High School for the Arts, Syosset, NY
Monthlong summer study program with a concentration in music theory, composition, and performance.
WORK EXPERIENCE
On-Call Freelance Media Production Engineer
The Juilliard School
I lead and assist on recording studio sessions when needed, helping students with both academic recordings and personal projects. Typical recordings involve student ensembles from the classical or jazz music departments, with all-acoustic instrumentation. Responsibilities include setup, breakdown, and the recording of both audio and video—which involves microphones, video cameras, lighting equipment, etc.
Music Engineer/Producer/Editor
Freelance — self-employed
Provide music-related services, such as producing, studio recording, editing, mixing, and mastering, to independent music artists, mainly focusing on college-age students looking to build up a portfolio.
Studio Assistant/Score Transcriber
LiveWire Production and Recording
Transcribe both audio and MIDI tracks of original music compositions into professional, easily-readable manuscripts in the notation software Sibelius. The task requires advanced aural comprehension skills (including polyphonic transcriptions with no written references) and specialized notation/technical knowledge specific to different instrument groups. I also assist (as needed) on studio maintenance (including a full rewiring of the studio space) and recording sessions.
Concert Recordist
New York University
Set up and record audio, video, and livestreams for student recitals; operate A/V equipment such as microphones, digital recorders, digital mixing consoles, streaming cameras, projectors, PA systems, and more, in a variety of performance spaces across the University.
Studio Engineer
James L. Dolan Studio — New York University
Conduct studio sessions in all capacities, including session planning, setup, breakdown, recording, editing, comping, and recording video.
Studio Intern
James L. Dolan Studio — New York University
Acted as a recording and production assistant to studio engineers, and assisted in basic housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and maintenance.
